Great Bradfords FC was formed in 1978 by Maureen and Mel Baker playing our first games out of the namesake, Great Bradfords School on the Fairview estate in Braintree. We continued to grow rapidly with nearly 20 teams as we hit the 90s and early 00s. As a decline in football happened our club was hit hard and in 2014 we had only 3 teams ready to play. Sadly, in 2015 we lost Maureen very suddenly and with that meant all the knowledge, experience and passion she had had gone too. In her memory we now have over 40 teams playing at the club and that is testament to the legacy she left behind.
The club is a special place in the area, a community, family run club with so much love for one and other. We live by our values of Pride, Passion and Purpose in everything we do whilst remembering our founders Maureen and Mel alongside our President Trev, both who we have sadly lost since Maureens passing. You will also see we have a yellow heart on all our kits in memory of our incredible sponsor Scott Gilhooly. This club really is a community who will always remember and thank those who got us to where we are today.
